For years now my family and I have been building a solid core around the food service industry all across the Gulf Coast. With locations stretching from Abita Springs, Slidell, and Arabi, Louisiana, and into Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, we truly are “southern grown”. Our menus are specialized more for the local Cajun-Creole cuisine foodie, but we also have a flare for many traditional items such as steaks, seafood, and classic Italian entrées.
Our family established its culinary entrepreneurship in 2003 when we gained the contract by NASA to operate the Rocketeria diner which is located in the John C. Stennis Space Visitor’s Center in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. Here we were able to introduce ourselves to local residents employed at the facility and also visitors from all around the country. NASA has given us a great number of opportunities to cater for many different functions such as rocket testings, visiting local politicians, and special events honoring astronauts. In 2004 our first Camellia Café was born in Slidell, Louisiana. The community welcomed us with open arms and we eventually grew to be a neighborhood “breath of fresh air” as we were one of the first restaurants to open after Hurricane Katrina. The popular response and success we received after that devastating event contributed to the second Camellia Café opening in 2006 located in Abita Springs, Louisiana. This restaurant is a gallery of artistic work created by prestige local artists of St. Tammany Parish. Along with our unique French Quarter style atmosphere, and our New Orleans cuisine menu, we were pleased to bring a little piece of the “Big Easy” to the North shore. Just six months after opening the Camellia Café of Abita Springs, our fourth establishment, the Riverbend Bistro was introduced to the devastated area of St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana. Once again, the community’s response was refreshing. This restaurant offers an upscale, yet family friendly, contemporary dining experience along with a large banquet room. This is the perfect location for business meetings, showers, holiday parties, and family gatherings. For our clients on the Norths shore, an off-site celebration hall is available for booking your event.
Our family knows that every special event, holiday, or celebration revolves around good food and good company, and around here we look for any reason to throw a party! Whether you are looking for an eclectic bayou born taste, or just wanting to show your guest how folks here in the south live and eat, we are here to help.
